GOLD EAGLE COMPANY ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT OF BOB HIRSCH

By Marc Blackman, CEO

With very mixed feelings, I have both the honor and responsibility to announce the retirement of Bob Hirsch. With great pride for what the company has accomplished and confidence and enthusiasm for where Gold Eagle® is heading, Bob feels that the time is right for this transition, especially since he remains in excellent health.

As an owner and critical visionary for the company, Bob will still lend his business acumen and amazing experience as a member of both the company’s fiduciary and advisory boards. Both Rich and I, as well as the rest of the family, are very thankful for Bob’s willingness to remain on these important boards.

Bob joined Gold Eagle alongside his father, Armin, in 1957. Bob has not only led Gold Eagle to where it is today but is known throughout the Automotive Aftermarket and is considered a beloved icon for our industry; not to mention a great representative of Gold Eagle® and what we stand for.

In addition to Rich, myself, and others at Gold Eagle, he has touched and mentored so many people in our industry. The company and the aftermarket simply would not be the same without Bob Hirsch! Most recently, and for over 10 years, Bob chaired the Automotive Aftermarket Charity Foundation (AACF), and as you would suspect, led the AACF to new heights in industry awareness, monies raised, and the all-important benefits dispersed to industry employees and families in need. Bob also remains very active in fundraising for the American Cancer Society.

Bob is known throughout the automotive aftermarket and is considered a beloved icon for our industry. Bob has touched and mentored so many people and our company and the aftermarket industry simply would not be the same without Bob Hirsch. Fortunately, as a critical visionary for the company, Bob will still lend his business acumen and amazing experience to Gold Eagle Company.

Words cannot express how much Bob has impacted me both personally and professionally. I am so very grateful to have been welcomed into the Gold Eagle family and be given so many opportunities to develop. More than anything, Bob has been an amazing role model and the type of leader I aspire to be every day.

Congratulations, Bob on your retirement and the legacy you leave with Gold Eagle®!
